Today I am asking for you to take Action! Your calls are still very important in our work to pass this bill!
Senator Fortunato sponsored this bill for his constituents along with Senators Ericksen and Honeyford.
CAPR needs you, its members to keep the ball rolling on this important bill!
The bill number is 6572 and is titled "Concerning Due Process of land use code violations"
This morning the bill had a public hearing in the Senate Local Government Committee!
This is a big deal because this is the first time this issue has come before the Senate to protect citizens from the harassment and lack of due process in land use code violations because of the use of anonymous code violation complaints.
This bill would eliminate anonymous complaints which have been giving grief to and costing citizns time, money, and loss of business, not to mention tons of stress! Especially in King County, but this would solve the problem statewide!
Here is the TVW recording of the hearing, you can watch from minute 15:30 to minute 29:56
Please call Senator Takko and ask him to move this bill through the session starting with an executive hearing and a recommendation to the rules committee to get the bill heard on the floor! (360) 786 - 7636
Don't forget to thank him for hearing the bill!
Please call 800 562 6000.
