Final Draft Comprehensive Plan and 2024-2044 Capital Facilities Plan available On October 1, 2024, Pierce County published a Final Draft Comprehensive Plan and 2024 - 2044 Capital Facilities Plan. Both are available on the project website: https://www.PierceCountyWa.gov/CompPlan. Two analyses requested by Council have also been shared to the project website: The Rural Density Incentives Removal Analysis, and an updated Urban Growth Area Retractions Analysis. Since the draft Comprehensive Plan was released in January 2024, this document has been updated to select policy options that are consistent with Pierce County Council’s preferred alternative. The preferred alternative proposes investments and policies to provide all residents safe and prosperous communities, while addressing the housing crisis and climate hazards. The Capital Facilities Plan outlines the infrastructure and services necessary to support this vision, and how the County will fund these investments. The Council Community Development and Environment Committee is scheduled to hold a briefing and public hearing on these materials on October 7 and October 21, 2024.
