President Trump has signed an Executive Order intended to fight Overcriminalization In Federal Regulations.
This was in part brought about by a case initiated by the Biden administration for which the Trump Administration dropped the criminal and civil charges brought against the South Dakota Maude Family during the Biden Administration. The Maudes were alerted by the United States Forest Service that fencing on their property blocked access to the Buffalo Gap National Grasslands and in good faith agreed to a survey of the property lines. After the survey was completed, the Maudes lives were turned upside down by the Biden Administration where a simple civil dispute over 25 acres of federal land turned into a costly, invasive, and unnecessary criminal prosecution.
This executive order led to the creation of a Lawfare Complaint Form posted to the USDA website for landowners, farmers, ranchers, and USDA customers who have fallen victim to unfair and politically motivated lawfare. This effort to minimize over regulation and mis-application of law or rules should help to make food freedom a more attainable goal for all Americans.
Additionally, the Office of Inspector General, US Department of Interior has been directed to establish a Complaint Hotline to minimimize and report wrongdoing and mismanagement. Anyone with knowledge of fraud, waste, abuse, misconduct, or mismanagement involving the U.S. Department of the Interior should contact the Office of Inspector General's hotline.
This adjustment of goals of the Administative state should lead to a more transparent government, and a more productive America working with less interference, but better help from governmental agencies, It is up to the people of this country to push back when they see or experience agency wrongdoing.
